My Blog: We need some new blood!! January, 2011
When I entered this business 20 years ago, most realtors were women who used real estate sales as a second income. If you sold a few houses a year, you could make some good spending money. Most of the work was word of mouth, so if you had a good network of friends, you could get some business. There were no computers, no cell phones, no voice mail, no email, no blogs and no internet. The dark ages............
Over the years, the business has become much more specialized, more demanding, more competitive, and more rewarding. Virtually every deal now involves two brokers, one representing the buyer, one representing the seller. The quality of service far surpasses what it used to be. People rely on real estate agents, and people trust real estate agents. Not always, but usually.
But the buyers are getting younger, and many of us realtors are getting older. We need new realtors. Positions are available!!!
Have you ever thought about becoming a realtor? It's an easy business to enter, but it's a hard business to stay in. It's challenging, but very rewarding.
We are looking for new realtors at Coldwell Banker in Newton Centre. If you are interested, or if you know someone who is interested, give me a call. We'll sit down and talk, confidentially, of course.
When it works, it works very well, and it is a very rewarding career.
Let me hear from you.

DO YOU NEED HELP MARKETING YOUR HOME????????
When I market a home, I always work as an EXCLUSIVE SELLER'S AGENT.
"Marketing a home" does not mean simply putting a property into the Multiple Listing Service and waiting. Much more is required. The goal is to find buyers who will pay top dollar, who have strong financials, and have a strong commitment to making the purchase. That's why people hire realtors. If it were simple, believe me, real estate brokers would soon go out of business.
If you are thinking about selling, or would like a COMPLIMENTARY ESTIMATE OF VALUE for your home, please call me at 617-962-1511, or email charles.mcmillan@nemoves.com.

DO YOU NEED HELP PURCHASING A HOME?????
When I work with buyers, I always work as a DESIGNATED BUYER'S AGENT, representing your interests in identifying property and negotiating a sale.
Most savvy buyers know that they need representation to make what is often the biggest purchase of their lives. I never try to sell buyer clients on my own listings. That can create a "dual agency" situation that becomes a conflict of interest. Call me or email me and we can discuss the details of BUYER AGENCY. It's very simple and straightforward.
Comments from past clients: "Thank you for everything that you did for us.....Charlie, it was a great experience working with you and I will always recommend you to everyone and anyone who is buying or selling real estate." Colleen and Malcolm (sold in Brookline, bought in Belmont.)
"Charlie McMillan is superb, knows his stuff, and is kind and not pushy. I highly recommend him." Camille and Darrell (sold in Brighton, bought in Newton
"Charlie represented my property tirelessly....he worked with me while I was out of the country, getting the property ready for the market and recommended contractors (general, electrical, gardening, etc.) who did excellent work at very competitive rates....I am grateful for his integrity in the process of selling my home." Andrea (sold in Newton.)
"You were wonderful throughout the entire complicated experience and always objective, always calming and knowledgeable. Thanks, Charlie, we won't forget you and we look forward to our move to Newton." --Kathy and Russ (bought in Newton)
"There aren't a lot of brokers out there who could have handled this sale with the skill you displayed...you were persistent, patient, and professional. You also were a wonderful help to me--watching the house, cleaning, going to City Hall, etc. Thank you." --Susan (sold in Newton)
"Hi Charlie: Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic job helping us find and purchase a house. We really love the house and the boys are having so much fun in the backyard. It's perfect for us." --Jason and Regina (bought in Wellesley)
"I wish to express my appreciation to you on the sale of my house. It happened because of your skill and experience.... Your negotiation skills made this deal a success. Thank you very, very much." --Jim (sold in Newton.
"Dear Charlie: Thanks again for being so patient with us while we looked for the "perfect" house---which we found! ---Brian and Liz, (bought in Newton)
